Job Summary
Operate sandblast, belt lathe, and robotic machines to metal finish medical devices while performing quality verification, non-destructive testing, and laser marking. Read work instructions, use measuring tools like CMMs and calipers, enter production data into business systems, and execute secondary operations such as masking and hydraulic pressing. Perform penetrant inspection, precision finishing, and machine maintenance as needed, with advanced roles including welding, heat treating, and training other employees. Maintain 6S practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing knowledge to meet quality specifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of related experience (Metal Finisher I)
- Minimum 2 years related experience (Metal Finisher II)
- Minimum 3 years related experience (Sr. Metal Finisher)
- Some mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer application skills
- Basic blueprint reading skills
- Basic metrology / measuring skills
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to operate within and sustain an organized work environment
- Visual acuity requirements (peripheral, color, and depth perception)
