Job Summary
Read fabrication instructions, cut lists, and measurements to cut, bend, prepare, bundle, tag, stage, and load steel and construction materials. Check finished pieces for accuracy, keep orders organized, and report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly. Use shop tools safely after training, maintain a clean fabrication area, and assist with loading trucks when needed. This role requires lifting up to 100 lbs and working in a fast-paced shop environment with machinery and outdoor staging. Overtime, early mornings, and occasional Saturdays are available.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to double-check work before production runs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, and handle heavy or awkward materials throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 80-100 lbs as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment with machinery, sharp materials, noise, and outdoor staging areas.
- Dependability, punctuality, teamwork, and follow-through.
- Willingness to learn company standards, shop safety practices, and fabrication processes.
- Willingness to work overtime, early mornings, or occasional scheduled Saturdays when business needs require.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous fabrication, steel, rebar, welding, shop, warehouse, or construction-related experience.
- Experience cutting, bending, bundling, staging, or loading steel materials.
- Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for shop equipment care and troubleshooting.
