Job Summary
Fabricate and weld custom metal components including doors, gates, frames, and structural parts from blueprints and shop drawings. Plan your own layout and sequencing, then coordinate directly with project managers on timelines and priorities. Execute MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel, stainless, and aluminum while inspecting your own and others' work for fit, finish, and quality. Help train new team members and flag problems early to keep projects moving without constant direction. This role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience and steady work under deadline pressure.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on welding and metal fabrication experience (architectural, structural, or industrial)
- Solid MIG and TIG skills; comfortable with steel, stainless, and aluminum
- Can read blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols independently
- Proven ability to manage your own workload and make decisions without being micromanaged
- Clear communicator — comfortable talking directly with project managers about schedules and problems
- Steady under deadline pressure, without cutting corners on quality or safety
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in architectural millwork, doors/gates, or custom fabrication shops
- Prior lead, foreman, or supervisory experience
- AWS certification(s)
