Job Summary
Lead and supervise the metal fabrication department to ensure efficient production of parts, driving continuous improvement through lean techniques, developing standardized procedures, planning and coordinating activities to meet project schedules and budgets, and coordinating with weld, fabrication, and design teams to maintain workflow. Responsibilities include verifying parts against prints, managing inventory and tooling, enforcing safety/environmental policies, providing training and performance evaluations, and demonstrating leadership through accountability and follow-through. Proficient in reading engineering drawings, operating welding equipment (TIG/MIG), and working in a high-velocity manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on quality and timely delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- associate degree preferred
- three to five years of experience managing others
- five years prior welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment
- ability to set up and operate TIG and MIG welding equipment
- ability to read engineering drawings
- dependable with good work history and references
