Job Summary
Metallurgical Technician to join Origin Mining's processing team. Will work under engineers to perform metallurgical lab testing, assist with process surveying and reporting, and collaborate with metallurgy and operations groups to investigate process upsets and improvement projects. Key duties include collecting production samples in an industrial environment, preparing samples for testing and chemical analysis, size-by-size wet and dry screen analysis, bench-scale flotation testing, and recording/inputting data. Requires understanding of comminution, flotation and dewatering processes (especially copper and molybdenum extraction); experience with lab equipment and sample preparation/analysis; knowledge of sampling theory; proficiency in math, chemistry, and Microsoft Office; strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and commitment to safety. Safety-sensitive role with 12-hour rotating shifts; location in Golden Valley, AZ (in-person). Valid drivers license required.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of comminution, flotation and dewatering processes, particularly related to copper and molybdenum extraction
- Previous experience working with lab equipment, including sample preparation and analysis techniques
- Understanding of sampling theory and techniques
- Demonstrated knowledge in math, chemistry, and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Awareness of occupational hazards and commitment to safe work practices
- Valid driver's license required
