MES- Instructional Assistant: Exceptional Children

Collaborate with classroom teachers to support small groups of students in curricular areas, focusing on building background knowledge and reinforcing learning concepts. Conduct assessments under supervision to evaluate instructional needs and maintain manual and electronic files to ensure resource availability and meet mandated requirements. Implement academic and behavioral interventions as needed while organizing instructional materials for small group presentations. Assist students with special needs by adapting tasks to IEP goals and supporting life skills necessary for independent living. Supervise students during class, transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips, reporting incidents to supervising teachers. Report student progress and observations to assist in implementing instructional plans.
