Job Summary
The Merrill Advisor Development Program – Financial Advisor in San Diego focuses on building a book of business by sourcing prospective clients and delivering comprehensive wealth-management recommendations. You will identify client needs, review financial goals, provide customized strategies, and collaborate with Merrill Financial Advisor Teams to develop and expand client relationships while completing mandated training and continuing education. Key duties include sourcing new clients, conducting client reviews, adhering to KYC procedures, recommending suitable investment products and services, coordinating with internal specialists, and managing time, resources, and compliance to grow a productive advisory practice. The role combines hands-on client development with mentorship and structured on-boarding to prepare you for independent advisory work within Bank of America/Merrill.
Required Qualifications
- Series 7 & 66 licenses (63 & 65 in lieu of 66)
- Minimum of one year experience in financial services and/or a sales environment with goals
- Minimum of one year experience in investments industry and knowledge of investment products and services
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to collaborate with team and key partners
- Proven ability to prospect and source clients
- Ability to work in an environment with performance-based compensation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Compliance with SAFE Act registration requirements
