Job Summary
Conduct senior practicum hours in the Operating Room at Mercy St. Louis Hospital's Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center. Work alongside a dedicated Mercy Nurse while receiving comprehensive training in circulating and scrub roles across General Surgery, GYN, Specialty, and ENT service lines. Complete a 5-month residency followed by one month of mentorship, with hands-on clinical practice supported by classroom didactics and online modules. Schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm, including a 30-minute call time requirement. This program is exclusive to nursing students completing their final practicum at participating institutions like Maryville University, Mizzou, and St Louis Community College.
Required Qualifications
- MUST accept an RN residency in the Operating Room to qualify
- 6-month contract post-graduation is required
- Nursing degree from an accredited school
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Missouri
- BLS required
- Must start with Mercy within 12 months of graduation
