Job Summary
Proactively engage with customers to identify downstream process development needs and technical challenges through site visits and regular communication. Design and execute hands-on experiments for clarification, virus filtration, TFF, and chromatography applications using customer feed streams. Develop tailored process development proposals and study protocols, then communicate experimental results and project progress via reports and teleconferences. Collaborate with internal teams to capture voice-of-customer insights and support technology adoption. Deliver technical training to customers and participate in thought leadership activities like webinars and workshops. This role requires significant travel (>50%) to customer sites.
Required Qualifications
- M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related Engineering or Science discipline
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- B.S. in a related discipline
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Direct, hands-on experience operating downstream bioprocessing equipment in manufacturing, pilot, and/or PD-scale environments
- Practical experience with downstream bioprocess unit operations for process development
- Working knowledge of bioprocess science and engineering fundamentals
- Practical, hands-on approach to process design and problem-solving
- Ability to write clear and well-structured technical documents including experimental protocols, process development proposals, and reports
- Familiarity with bioprocess downstream unit operations (process requirements, best practices, industry standards)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks and customer engagements simultaneously
- Collaborative team player who works effectively in a multicultural, matrix organization
- Open to learning and developing expertise, with a growth mindset and willingness to work under mentorship
- Commercially aware, with an interest in understanding customer business needs and market dynamics
- Willing and able to travel frequently (>50% to customer sites)
