Merchant Services Global Banking -Commercial Credit Underwriter II

Job Summary
Conduct underwriting and structure complex credit transactions for Merchant Services clients with annual revenue of $5MM+, exercising independent judgment to approve merchant exposure while adhering to credit policies and regulatory requirements. Deliver financial, industry, and economic analysis to recommend and approve deals, negotiate client relationships, and articulate the bank's position during customer-facing interactions. Manage transaction risk, including reputation and credit risks, by performing full underwriting analysis, preparing deal justifications, and maintaining knowledge of integrated debt capital and treasury management solutions. Provide ongoing coaching to sales partners and collaborate with relationship managers and product experts to design optimal credit solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of solid experience in commercial underwriting (Business Banking, Middle Market, Large Corporate, Leveraged Finance, Financial Sponsors or other highly complex credits)
- Experience performing financial analysis
- Experience spreading financials
- Experience completing risk ratings
- Experience structuring approvals
- Experience in portfolio management
- Experience preparing and completing a variety of Risk Rating scorecards
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong technical skills
- Knowledge of financial accounting
- Experience with modeling
- Experience with loan structuring
- Prior experience in a high volume commercial credit production environment
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
