Job Summary
Merchant in Loblaw's Wholesale Club Division responsible for setting and achieving category goals, developing end-to-end promotional programs, and leveraging data to drive financial outcomes. Collaborates with cross-functional teams (merchandising, operations, supply chain, marketing, loyalty, e-commerce) to optimize assortment, pricing, and in-store merchandising, while evaluating program success, conducting competitive benchmarking, and supporting vendor program meetings. Requires data-driven decision making, vendor engagement, product costing discussions, and awareness of sustainability and inclusion values. Must have post-secondary education or equivalent experience and 1–3 years of merchandising/retail experience; strong Excel/PowerPoint/office software skills; ability to influence and collaborate across teams; commitment to a diverse and accessible workplace. Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- At least one year’s experience as a merchant/buyer, in retail sales, or merchandising
- Analytical approach and experience using data to make decisions
- Financial, business and retail knowledge
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and confidence working with various software platforms
