Merchant Acquisition Executive

Job Summary
Merchant Acquisition Executive responsible for expanding and managing a network of merchant partners across South Africa. Duties include acquiring new merchants, onboarding and training them to use the platform, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closure, coordinating with cross-functional teams for onboarding and ongoing merchant satisfaction, monitoring performance and engagement, supporting tactical promotional campaigns, and reporting progress against KPIs. Requires persistent, customer-focused, and highly organized sales skills, with strong negotiation and relationship-management abilities; bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing (or equivalent experience) and 3–5 years of sales/merchant acquisition experience; valid driver’s license and own transport.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in sales, merchant acquisition, or account management
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Experience in hospitality, lifestyle, retail, or FMCG industries is highly advantageous
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
- Excellent communication skills in English; other local languages are an advantage
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to own transport
- Deep knowledge of the local business environment and trends in your territory
