Job Summary
Order, receive, and price prescription and non-prescription items for multi-site outpatient pharmacies while performing merchandising and cashier functions. Organize revenue-generating promotions, coordinate the return of stale-dated merchandise, and assist with packaging prescription deliveries and invoice reconciliation. Fit compression stockings for patients and coordinate sales, requiring 95% standing during the shift. This role supports pharmacy operations under the Manager, Outpatient Pharmacy, with a wage range of $20.83 - $31.25 per hour for casual hours at Toronto General Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
- One (1) year related merchandising experience
- Very good verbal and written communication skills
- Very good interpersonal skills
- Very good organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of Pharmacy operations, practices and regulations
- Knowledge of applicable legislation i.e. Health Professions Regulations Act, etc.
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) requirements
- Compliance with established confidentiality requirement
- Satisfactory attendance
- Must be able to lift items or bending, such as cases of nutritional products greater than 15lbs
- Requires standing 95% of the shift
- Must be able to assist with packaging and sending prescription deliveries and reconciling invoices
- Must be able to perform compression stockings fitting for patients and/or customers and coordination of compression stockings sales
- Must be able to communicate with other Pharmacy personnel
- Must be able to perform cross-functional duties, within scope of authority
- Must be able to perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred, six months technical experience in a retail/community Pharmacy
- Computer Skills: MS Word and basic Excel
