Job Summary
Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree supports the Store Manager in leading a team to deliver merchandising excellence and efficient freight processing. Responsibilities include assisting with all store functions, opening/closing procedures, protecting assets, maintaining store areas (stockroom and sales floor) to company standards, processing directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests), ensuring cleanliness and safety, delivering a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates, and performing additional duties as assigned. The role also covers processing receipt and return of DSD merchandise, managing freight flow, stocking merchandise (including frozen & refrigerated), ensuring sales-floor effectiveness, and planning/maintaining Clip Strips, Power Panels, and monthly Sales Planners. Requires prior retail/management experience and strong communication skills; physical capability to lift 30-50 lbs and endure an active store environment.
Required Qualifications
- Prior retail and management experience preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
- Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
