Job Summary
Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree responsible for merchandising and processing freight in collaboration with the Store Manager. Duties include assisting with all store functions, opening/closing procedures, safeguarding assets, adhering to policies and safety guidelines, maintaining clean and presentable stocking areas (stockroom and sales floor), executing corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests), and ensuring a positive, safe, and customer-friendly environment. Additional duties include processing receipt/return of DSD merchandise, managing freight flow per productivity standards, stocking merchandise including frozen/refrigerated items, ensuring a sales-effective sales floor, and planning/implementing monthly Sales Planners. Skills emphasized include strong communication, interpersonal, and written abilities, plus the ability to lift 30-50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a high-energy team setting. The role is full-time and located in Pismo Beach, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Prior retail and management experience is preferred
- Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
