Job Summary
The Merchandiser will assist and execute local and regional straight and direct ingredient sales and merchandising activities, support supply chain and logistics of goods, manage product positioning and quality, and communicate market prices and positions to the Ingredient Sales Lead for dissemination. Responsibilities include developing selling strategies by commodity and season, pursuing procurement opportunities when applicable, negotiating with suppliers while maintaining strong supplier relationships, assessing risk within commodity positions, overseeing contracts and timely shipments, minimizing demurrage costs, aiding in optimization of locations with Reseller markets, and understanding barge, rail, and truck logistics. A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of merchandising or ingredient sales experience are required, along with multitasking ability, teamwork, excellent communication, and strong negotiation and mathematical skills. This is a full-time role based in Hereford, TX, USA with on-site responsibilities at local/regional locations.
