Job Summary
Merchandise Reset Assembly Tech responsibilities include assembling and servicing retail fixtures and products for major chains, reading assembly instructions and drawings, operating basic software to check schedules and update job status, and traveling to store locations or customer sites as needed. This independent contractor role emphasizes high energy, speed, accuracy, and the ability to work with limited supervision. You may start with general assembly tasks and progress toward an In-Store Product/Merchandise Assembler role with major retailers like Lowe's, Home Depot, ACE Hardware, and Cabela's. Tools required include a cordless drill (2 batteries) and assorted bits/adapters, basic hand tools, and reliable smartphone/internet access. Must be physically capable of heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs), standing, kneeling, bending, and traveling between locations. Local positions exist with potential for more travel.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a working mobile phone
- Must have access to the internet
- Must be able to work remotely
- Must have valid identification & eligible to work in the U.S.
- Heavy lifting up to 80lbs repeatedly and daily
- Must be able to stand, squat, and bend over for long periods
- Read and execute assembly instructions, assembly drawings, and procedure manuals
- Must be mechanically inclined and able to assemble RTA products
- Operate computer to check schedules, update manufacturing status of jobs
- Must be self-motivated, energetic and a good communicator
- There are local positions available but travel may be necessary
- Some travel may be necessary
- You must be able to drive between store locations and travel to customer sites
- Own reliable transportation
- Own tools to perform services
- Regular internet access via smartphone or device
