Job Summary
Merchandise Planner responsible for determining optimal product assortment, quantities, and pricing to maximize sales and profitability. Analyzes historical sales, inventory, costs, and market trends to decide what products to launch, reorder, reduce, or discontinue; determines initial buy quantities, safety stock, reorder points, and stock allocation across stores and e-com. Oversees inventory productivity at the SKU level, including sell-through, stock turn, overstock reduction, and gross margin optimization. Recommends designs, colors, and sizes to launch or phase out; analyzes top sellers and slow movers; optimizes assortment breadth and depth, and allocates inventory investment across categories. Develops pricing, markdown, and clearance strategies based on landed cost, margin targets, and demand; monitors impact on sales and inventory turnover. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Odoo) is required, along with strong English communication skills and deep knowledge of retail merchandising, pricing, and inventory management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory planning, demand planning, or retail analytics
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as Odoo
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising, pricing, and inventory management
