Job Summary
The Merchandise Assistant supports the execution of Rowan’s jewelry and ear piercing assortment strategy through strong organization, reporting, sample management, and cross-functional coordination. This role reports directly to the CSCO and plays a critical part in supporting product launches, assortment updates, inventory tracking, vendor communication, and merchandising operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and passionate about fashion, jewelry, and customer experience. Responsibilities include item creation and maintenance (SKU setup, data accuracy), seasonal PO management, vendor coordination, launch readiness, inventory monitoring, sample tracking and budgets, vendor outreach for new suppliers, and cross-functional storytelling through product decks and studio communications. You will also contribute to weekly sales reporting, trend analysis, and merchandising KPIs, and collaborate with marketing, creative, and studio teams to support campaigns and initiatives. Proactive collaboration with vendors, studios, and leadership to ensure on-time delivery and accurate merchandising documents is essential, as is staying informed on jewelry and piercing trends to guide future assortments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, retail operations, or fashion/accessories
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with comfort in spreadsheets and retail reporting
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Excel
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
- Familiarity with Shopify, NetSuite, DOMO or other retail systems is a plus
