Job Summary
Independent contractor position for in-store merchandise assembler servicing retail chains in Alexandria/NoVa area. Responsibilities include reading instructions, gathering materials, taking measurements, assembling parts, ensuring quality, displaying products, maintaining records, traveling to customer sites, and working at various store locations. Requires experience as assembler, ability to read blueprints/drawings, use hand and power tools, heavy lifting up to 80 lbs, physical stamina, self-motivation, and ability to work alone. Travel between stores; piecework pay; 1099; W-4/I-9.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as assembler
- Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.
- Good understanding of quality control principles
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
- Advanced knowledge of hand and power tools
- Heavy lifting up to 80lbs repeatedly and daily
- Must be able to stand, squat, and bend over for long periods of time
- Can follow directions in the assembly of required products
- Must be mechanically inclined and meet productivity standards
- Able to solve unforeseen challenges while assembling various consumer products
- Must be self-motivated, energetic, and work well alone
- Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc.
- Willingness to travel between store locations
- Independent contractor/1099 terms
- Flexibile schedules and travel to customer sites
