Job Summary
Manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout the project duration while developing detailed CPM schedules and schedules of values for billing. Coordinate activities, material procurement, and project logistics with the general building superintendent, project manager, and field staff. Review contract documents, approve materials and equipment, and monitor installation, startup, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems. Supervise MEP Project Engineers and oversee the review and coordination of submittals and shop drawings. Prepare progress reports for project managers, directors, and owners during weekly meetings. This full-time, site-based role requires extensive travel across the continental U.S. and includes subsistence and incentives. McCarthy is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in a field leadership position for a General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, or Mechanical Contractor
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in the capacity of a Superintendent specifically overseeing the mechanical, electrical, or low voltage systems
- Proven track record as a Superintendent on hyper scale, large commercial, or small-scale Mission Critical or Data Center, Critical Facilities, and other MEP-heavy commercial or industrial projects in the capacity of a General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, or Mechanical Contractor
- Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systems
- General understanding of building codes, mechanical codes, electrical codes and plumbing codes as they relate to construction of project
- Experience dealing with MEP subcontracts and subcontractors
- Must be geographically mobile, able to relocate and/or travel
