Job Summary
MDQP Field Engineer role on the Brooklyn Jail Project focuses on expanding and enforcing quality controls for a large-scale construction program. Responsibilities include developing and implementing Quality Management Plans, defining quality metrics, leading a team of quality professionals, performing site evaluations and follow-ups to address deficiencies, sharing best practices across project teams, and ensuring compliance with Federal/State/local regulations (ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, FBC). Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, 7+ years in MEP quality control on building projects, ability to read drawings and technical specs, and ISO 9001/Six Sigma knowledge; proficient with quality management software and MS Office. The project is in Brooklyn, NY, and the position reports to QC Manager & Sr. Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP quality control in building construction projects
- Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
