Job Summary
MEP Project Manager (Data Center) leads and coordinates mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of a data center construction project to deliver on time and within budget. Serves as primary site leader and client liaison, directing safety, QA/QC, subcontractors, and vendors; ensures field progress, issue resolution, and effective communication through daily reports and stakeholder updates. Responsibilities include administering safety programs, coordinating trades and equipment, overseeing subcontractors, conducting QA/QC activities, leading meetings, developing site logistics and scopes of work, managing preconstruction activities, tracking progress against plan, guiding close-out, punch-list management, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures and company codes. Must demonstrate strong project-management capability, knowledge of risk and cost reporting, and proficiency with Primavera/MS Project; PMP preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or closely related field (preferably); other relevant education, training, or work experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of five (5) years construction management experience
- Experience managing trades valued at $50MM
- Experience with large/complex safety plan implementation
- Proven track record of organizing project teams to accomplish project goals
- Effective negotiation and contract management skills with clients
- Experience in cost reporting methods (cash flow, safety, cost, schedule, VDC)
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and contract types
- Familiarity with Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
- PMP certification preferred
