Job Summary
MEP Engineer responsible for designing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for manufacturing/building projects across Stelumar SAMI and Mattamy Homes Canada. Develop preliminary design layouts, ensure codes compliance, coordinate with architectural and structural teams to preserve design intent, and produce drawings and specifications. Seal engineering documents and, where applicable, act as Engineer of Record for permit submissions. Collaborate with architects throughout all phases, contribute to value-engineering and design alternatives, participate in procurement discussions, and utilize AutoCAD and Revit to model and analyze MEP systems. Support project meetings with clients and contractors, manage deliverables to meet deadlines and budget, and perform related duties. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, a valid P.Eng., 5+ years of MEP experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks Manage, and Bluebeam Revu. Bonus points for LEED AP, BCIN, and exposure to modular/offsite construction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Valid Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) License with the ability to stamp and seal engineering documents
- 5+ years of experience in MEP work or similar role
- Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Problem-solving, adaptability, and attention to detail
- Familiarity with automation tools and data integration for manufacturing workflows
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach
- Proficiency in MEP software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks Manage, Bluebeam Revu)
