Job Summary
Manage the design process for electrical design phase activities, including project estimating, business partner selection, and preliminary scheduling. Facilitate designer solicitation and contracting, develop detailed construction schedules, and lead teams in constructability reviews and BIM/VDC utilization. Oversee cost management, regulatory approvals, and risk mitigation while mentoring engineers and driving Lean Design Delivery principles. Work closely with owners to define expectations and gather feedback to identify future collaboration opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
- Minimum five years of estimating or on-site project management experience, with one to two years as a Preconstruction Manager
- Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing abilities at all organizational levels
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, initiative, and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
- Working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, scheduling, cost control, drawings, specifications, and standards
- Active listening skills and effective communication
- Ability to travel up to 70%
