MEP Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary
MEP Assistant Project Manager supports planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems on construction projects. This role works with the MEP Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure MEP activities are completed on schedule, meet quality standards, and comply with project specifications and safety requirements. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, specifications, and submittals; developing and maintaining MEP schedules and look-ahead plans; coordinating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors; tracking procurement and material lead times; attending coordination meetings and documenting action items; field coordination with subcontractors; field walks to monitor progress and installation accuracy; resolving basic technical issues by coordinating with the project team; maintaining logs for RFIs, submittals, and drawing revisions; preparing meeting minutes, progress updates, and status reports; tracking changes to schedule or cost; assisting with testing, startup, and commissioning documentation; supporting quality control to verify installations meet specifications and code; assisting with inspections and punch lists; ensuring safety compliance and PPE procedures; assisting with tracking costs, quantities, and change orders; reviewing subcontractor invoices against work performed; participating in safety meetings and reinforcing safety expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or MEP-related roles preferred
