Job Summary
Participate in a formal beginning teacher assistance program by providing ongoing support and assistance to new employees through classroom observation and follow-up conferences. Help resolve problems of beginning teachers by addressing teaching techniques, classroom management skills, and improved relationships with students. Assist with identifying goals and objectives and facilitate self-evaluation of the intern teacher. Complete assigned responsibilities including regular observations, monthly support team meetings, and a log book. This extracurricular assignment at Poca Elementary School runs for the 2026-27 school year with a stipend paid by the West Virginia Department of Education.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) Years Teaching Experience
- Must Participate In Training Program
- Master's Degree And/Or Previous Advanced Training In Teacher Effectiveness
- Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As: Regular Observations/Conferences
- Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As: Attendance At Monthly Support Team Meetings
- Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As: Completion Of A Log Book
- Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As: Ongoing Support And Assistance To New Employee
- Same Programmatic Level As Intern And Same Building Location If Possible
