Job Summary
Provide individualised mentorship to parents, offering support and guidance on various parenting challenges. Assist parents/carers to overcome barriers and empower them with the skills to achieve their individual employment and/or educational goals. Facilitate workshops and group sessions on topics relevant to parent challenges, while developing and implementing engaging educational materials. Foster a safe and supportive environment for parents to share experiences and learn from one another, and collaborate with community organisations to enhance program offerings. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, providing feedback for continuous improvement. Work one-on-one with parents, facilitating workshops, and creating a welcoming environment for learning and growth through the support programs offered.
Required Qualifications
- Personal lived experience in parenting or family support
- Relevant professional experience
- Employment service experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to connect with diverse families
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to meet targets while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Understanding and respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives
- Precision in documentation and case management
- Proficient in Technology
- Completed or working towards a Certificate III or above in a related course in Society and Culture, Health or Education
- Tertiary level qualifications related to education, training, social services, counselling, case management, psychology, community services, careers guidance
- Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one
- Appropriate visa to work in Australia/New Zealand
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with community resources and support systems
- Ability to speak an additional language
- Some travel to Goondiwindi
