Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one training and classroom observations for new educators within the first week of their assignment. Build positive mentor relationships by recognizing educator strengths and adapting to diverse learning styles. Implement Practice Based Coaching through modeling, focused observation, shadowing, and video review to improve teaching practices across Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support domains. Collaborate with staff to prioritize technical assistance for children with disabilities and behavioral needs while maintaining confidentiality. Develop Professional Development Plans based on CLASS observations to guide credentialing and training. Maintain documentation including observation notes and monthly tracking of coaching activities. Travel to assigned classrooms and attend in-service trainings to support program-wide goals and self-assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in childhood education or a related field
- Three years' experience in either a licensed center or a public school setting at a grade level no higher than elementary school
- Be CLASS Reliable and maintain certification yearly
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Must pass PRS background check
- Must pass an annual physical
- Within 30 days of employment must be Pediatric CPR & First Aid certified
- Knowledge of Head Start Procedure Standards, Head Start Parent, Family and Community Engagement framework and School Readiness Goals
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Data processing methods, information storage, Head Start Performance Standards, and information retrieval techniques
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree is preferred
