Job Summary
Participate in a formal beginning teacher assistance program by helping resolve problems through assistance and support. Conduct classroom observations and follow-up conferences to address teaching techniques, classroom management skills, and student relationships. Assist with identifying goals and objectives while supporting the self-evaluation of the intern teacher. Engage in regular support team meetings and maintain a log book to track progress. Receive a stipend paid by the West Virginia Department of Education for the 2026-27 school year. This mentor role requires five years of teaching experience and a master's degree or advanced training in teacher effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) Years Teaching Experience
- Must Participate In Training Program
- Master's Degree And/Or Previous Advanced Training In Teacher Effectiveness
- Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As: Regular Observations/Conferences, Attendance At Monthly Support Team Meetings, Completion Of A Log Book, Ongoing Support And Assistance To New Employee, Same Programmatic Level As Intern And Same Building Location If Possible
