Job Summary
Conduct regular observations and follow-up conferences with beginning teachers to address problems regarding teaching techniques, classroom management, and student relationships. Assist interns in identifying goals and objectives while supporting their self-evaluation processes. Participate in monthly support team meetings and maintain a log book to document ongoing assistance. Provide direct help to resolve issues faced by new educators within the same building location. This mentorship program is part of the Putnam County Schools formal beginning teacher assistance initiative.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) Years Teaching Experience
- Must Participate In Training Program
- Master's Degree And/Or Previous Advanced Training In Teacher Effectiveness
- Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As: Regular Observations/Conferences, Attendance At Monthly Support Team Meetings, Completion Of A Log Book, Ongoing Support And Assistance To New Employee, Same Programmatic Level As Intern And Same Building Location If Possible
