Job Summary
Mental Health Worker with full-time shifts providing client support on the STP Unit. Responsible for overseeing adherence to program guidelines, communicating with persons served, delivering rehabilitation groups, and assisting in crisis intervention. Responsibilities include escorting clients to groups, facilitating group activities, leading MHW discussions and daily community meetings, recording participation and tracking data, ensuring forms are completed properly, documenting interventions in the medical record, and reporting changes in behavior to the charge nurse and Program Counselor.
Required Qualifications
- Shall have at least 6 months job experience
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health and/or safety of other individuals in the workplace
