Job Summary
Provide timely, confidential wellbeing support to students through in-person and online appointments, conducting initial conversations to assess needs and risks. Design and deliver proactive wellbeing programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns while collaborating with campus teams to address recurring student themes. Apply approved referral pathways for crisis intervention and specialist support, maintaining strict confidentiality and professional boundaries. Work within JMC Academy's safety policies and contribute to continuous improvement of the student wellbeing framework.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in counselling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health discipline
- Demonstrated experience providing wellbeing or mental health support to young adults in an educational, community, or health setting
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and culturally responsive care
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted, professional relationships with students
- Clear understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality obligations, and mandatory reporting requirements
- Experience with crisis intervention and referral to specialist services
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
Desired Qualifications
- Current registration or membership with a relevant professional body (AHPRA, AASW, ACA, or equivalent)
