MENTAL HEALTH TRANSITIONAL ASSISTANT

Job Summary
Mental Health Transitional Assistant provides supervision, education, training and various support services to residents of Skyland Trail's Transitional Program. Duties include bi-weekly room/apartment checks; training clients in activities of daily living, interpersonal and socialization skills; assisting with daily living and wellness/recovery plans; transporting clients to outings or treatment; conducting Transitional Housing groups; co-facilitating community meetings; evening-shift activities including dinner prep and client activities; documenting shift information for the clinical team; monitoring safety and adherence to policies; ensuring facility standards and inventory; driving safely; completing room searches and transportation policy checks; assisting maintenance and housekeeping; supporting urgent issues; assisting with urine drug screens or alcohol tests; monitoring building needs; crisis support coordination; emergency preparedness procedures; and ensuring good customer service. Required qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or two years of clinical experience in mental health, along with crisis management and documentation skills. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in related field (i.e. Psychology, Social Work, Counseling) and/or two years of clinical experience in the mental health field.
- Prior experience with the chronically mentally ill population.
