Job Summary
Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for patients with mental illness and substance abuse problems. Interview, observe, and develop treatment plans while assessing patients' mental status through direct observation. Solicit family information to determine treatment goals and provide referrals to appropriate community mental health resources. Monitor patient treatment progress, maintain accurate records, and deliver crisis intervention services to those in danger. Consult with other mental health professionals to ensure effective treatment courses. Keep abreast of field changes and perform other duties as requested. Requires NYSED LMSW or LMHC licensure or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- NYSED LMSW or LMHC licensure OR other QHP (Qualified Health Professional) status such as MSW-Limited Permit with ability to obtain within 90 days of hire and licensure within one year of hire or MHC-Limited Permit with ability to obtain within 90 days of hire for designated programs/divisions
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- At least One-Two years demonstrated clinical experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment for designated programs based on needs of the facility
- In depth knowledge of NYC diverse network of medical and behavioral health care organizations, including substance use disorders, treatment services, education and employment services, and non-traditional community support groups
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
