Job Summary
Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for patients with mental illness, emotional, and substance abuse problems while assessing their mental status through interviews and observations. Develop treatment plans, solicit family information, and monitor patient progress to ensure goals are met. Provide crisis intervention services, manage accurate patient records, and consult with other professionals to coordinate effective courses of treatment. Offer referrals to community mental health resources and assist clients in transitioning home. Requires NYSED LMSW or LMHC licensure, a Master's degree, and at least one to two years of clinical experience. Salary ranges from $62,000 to $65,000 for this onsite role at a nationally recognized agency serving over 33,000 New Yorkers annually.
Required Qualifications
- NYSED LMSW or LMHC licensure OR other QHP (Qualified Health Professional) status such as MSW-Limited Permit with ability to obtain within 90 days of hire and licensure within one year of hire or MHC-Limited Permit with ability to obtain within 90 days of hire for designated programs/divisions
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- At least One-Two years demonstrated clinical experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment for designated programs based on needs of the facility
- In depth knowledge of NYC diverse network of medical and behavioral health care organizations, including substance use disorders, treatment services, education and employment services, and non-traditional community support groups
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
