Job Summary
Provides individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and related mental health services (adult outpatient) as part of PRN-Part Time employment. Responsibilities include conducting face-to-face assessments, establishing diagnoses, making treatment suggestions, ordering BHIS services when indicated, and assisting with referrals. Utilizes ASAM criteria for initial assessments and conducts bio-psychosocial history interviews. Delivers crisis counseling, differentiates emergency from non-emergency tasks, and supports clients with mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and personal growth needs to improve well-being. Emphasizes advanced psychosocial assessment and diagnosis, and coordinates with other professionals and House of Mercy staff to connect clients with program resources.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a human services related discipline, required
- Temporary license to provide mental health therapy in the State of Iowa or LMSW (licensed master social worker)
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within first 30 days of employment
