Mental Health Therapist - LGPC, LCPC

Job Summary
Create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for clients recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Conduct individual, group, family, and couples therapy sessions while managing caseloads and overseeing clinical care throughout treatment. Assess client progress, modify interventions, and provide crisis intervention, prevention, and de-escalation as needed. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation and collaborate with the Clinical Director, treatment team, and family members to ensure coordinated care. Develop aftercare and discharge recommendations to support long-term recovery. This role requires active state licensure (LCSW, LCPC, LGPC, etc.) and is based at Avenues Recovery Center's Prince Frederick 93-bed residential facility.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
- Active state licensure or certification required to practice in this role - LCSW, LCPC, LGPC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT
- Strong clinical judgment and observational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, addiction treatment, or residential treatment settings
- Experience facilitating group therapy
