Job Summary
Mental Health Therapist III position within Sea Mar Behavioral Health’s Community Services Northwest in Vancouver, WA. Provides diagnostic assessments, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, and treatment planning. Coordinates referrals with medication providers, primary care physicians, and other community agencies; ensures treatment plans align with diagnoses. Opportunities for supervision and program development support for licensed clinicians; role involves coordination with inpatient facilities and discharge planning; requires active WA licensure and ongoing continuing education. May require after-hours/community visits and adherence to BLS/CPR and TB testing protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work from an accredited college or university with coursework in psychological diagnostics
- Active license from the Washington State Department of Health (Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Social Worker)
- Four or more years of clinical experience in the field
- Ability to provide diagnostic assessments, referrals for psychiatric services, case management, and individual counseling
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification within 90 days of hire and maintenance of current BLS CPR
- TB test annually and at time of hire
- Must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
- Must hold and maintain an active license (WA MHP license or equivalent) or Mental Health Associate License
- Must be a Minority mental health therapist as required by WAC
- Ability to work some later hours (after 5pm) and potentially meet clients outside of office in community settings
- Willingness to coordinate with CDMHPs, inpatient facilities, and discharge planning
- Knowledge of WACs and RCWs and compliance with clinical contracts
