Job Summary
Mental Health Therapist III position at Sea Mar Community Health Centers (Puyallup Behavioral Health site) involves diagnostic assessments, referrals for psychiatric services, and coordinated case management. Responsibilities include individual counseling, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, and development of treatment plans and group sessions. The role supports program development, policy and procedure development, and compliance with WACs and RCWs, with additional administrative duties as directed by the program manager. Requires a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics, four+ years of clinical experience, and an active Washington State license as a Mental Health Professional or equivalent (License/Associate license paths acceptable). Must maintain TB testing, obtain/maintain BLS CPR within 90 days of hire, and demonstrate comfort with computers and Microsoft Office. The position is full-time and located in Puyallup, WA, serving diverse communities and providing services funded by Sea Mar’s network of clinics.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics
- Four or more years of field experience AND eligible for Mental Health Professional (MHP) criteria OR active license such as LMFT/LC, LMHC, LCSW
- Active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License or Mental Health Associate License (or equivalent) or active license as Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Independent Clinical Social Worker
- Active license from Washington State Department of Health for licensed provider
- TB test current
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter
- Experience with evidence-based models of treatment
- Computers/Microsoft Office proficiency
