Job Summary
Mental Health Technician per diem role at Saint Helena Hospital (Napa Valley region). Under RN direction, provides direct and indirect care to patient groups across age ranges, implements psychosocial interventions, assists with activities of daily living, participates in structured therapeutic activities, and supports the care team in planning and documenting care. Responsibilities include conducting therapeutic groups, monitoring patients, assisting with care plans, facilitating patient and family education, and performing clerical tasks related to charting and communications. Requires at least a high school education or GED; an Associate/Technical degree is preferred, and relevant certifications (CNA, NCI, CPI/TEAM, BLS) are encouraged. The position emphasizes patient safety, recovery-oriented care, and collaboration with nursing staff, while adhering to vaccination requirements and E-Verify participation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Two years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting: Preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification: Preferred
- Management of Assaultive Behavior certification: Preferred
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or TEAM or TEAM-A: Required
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
