Job Summary
Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under RN supervision, delivering delegated care per the individualized treatment plan, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, and performing Health Unit Coordinator duties. Responsibilities include obtaining clinical measurements (vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, EKG strips), assisting with activities of daily living, documenting in the EMR, recognizing changes in patient status, conducting therapeutic activities with patients, ensuring patient safety, and supporting unit efficiency and quality improvement efforts. Requires HS diploma or GED (with option for active student enrollment in related field) and CPR certification after hire; preferred candidates may be pursuing RN/psychology/social work programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- one (1) year experience with direct patient care in a healthcare setting OR enrolled as an active student in a relevant degree program of nursing, psychology, social work or other related field OR Bachelor’s degree in nursing, psychology, social work, or other related field
- CPR Certification (must be obtained after hired)
