Mental Health Technician (MHT) PT 11p-730a

Mental Health Technician (PT, 11p-7:30a) provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN in a psychiatric unit. Maintains a safe, clean environment and participates in performance improvement activities. Responsibilities include recording vital signs and intake/output, continuously observing patients and notifying the RN of changes, identifying behaviors requiring intervention, escorting patients for activities, safety checks, assisting with restraints under RN direction, de-escalation techniques, documentation in the EHR, orientation of new staff, assisting with therapeutic groups, and participating in treatment team meetings. Maintains patient safety, adheres to HIPAA and privacy laws, and supports quality initiatives; demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and compassion while delivering high-quality patient care.
