Job Summary
Mental Health Technician assists the RN in delivering care, observes patient behaviors, and provides one-on-one sessions with assigned patients in an inpatient setting; maintains a full patient caseload with a primary nurse and delivers care with compassion in a hospital float pool/resource setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- At least 12 college credits; BS/BA in behavioral health field preferred
- BLS through AHA required
- Must be trained in PEAT
- Able to safely schedule and restrain an aggressively acting out patient
- One-year experience with behavioral health clients preferred
