Job Summary
Monitor and enforce unit rules while applying supportive behavior to de-escalate patients exhibiting unacceptable conduct. Perform vital signs, weights, ADL, and nutritional monitoring, then communicate findings to nursing staff. Assist patients with mobility, laundry, meals, and bathroom functions, securing contraband and inventorying belongings accurately. Document patient observations, vital signs, and nutrition intake with 100% accuracy within defined timelines. Escort patients to treatment team meetings and practitioner visits, and lead activity groups to keep patients engaged. Comply with infection control policies and attend required in-services.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
- At least 1 year experience working with psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting preferred
- Crisis intervention experience preferred
