Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting while ensuring safety through de-escalation strategies and role modeling effective coping skills. Assist with therapeutic, recreational, and educational activities to promote wellness. Work rotating shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends to maintain 24-hour coverage. Submit to physical examinations and drug testing upon offer. Griffin Memorial Hospital serves as a state treatment center for adults with severe mental illness in Norman, Oklahoma.
Required Qualifications
- One year of behavioral health patient care experience
- Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety
- Must believe that recovery is possible
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds
- Willingness to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position
- Ability to submit to a physical examination
- Ability to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to work 24 hours, 7 days per week coverage
Desired Qualifications
- Level II: One year of behavioral health patient care experience
