Job Summary
Provide direct care for behavioral health patients under the direction of the registered nurse. Responsibilities include completing routine observations and safety checks, reporting behavioral changes to the Charge Nurse, participating in patient treatment planning, organizing and encouraging patient participation in unit activities, facilitating group and recreational activities under supervision, obtaining vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, providing crisis intervention as needed, documenting in the electronic health record, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Must meet physical demands (lifting, pushing, standing/walking) and have High School Diploma or equivalent with required certifications (BLS; Handle with Care within 90 days).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS certification required
- Handle with Care certification required within 90 days of hire
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting; preferred
