Mental Health Specialist II/III - Community Based Team

Job Summary
Provide clinical services to children, adults, and families, including screening, assessment, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention. Conduct joint case planning with schools, courts, and hospitals to support client reintegration or prevent higher-level care needs. Deliver behavioral health education and promote safety through risk assessment and de-escalation techniques. Act as a liaison between clients and community agencies while transporting clients as required. Complete all documentation in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules and maintain client records using agency software. Work 40 hours weekly with a schedule that includes after-hours rotations and weekend shifts to accommodate client availability.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology or other human service related field
- Active variance from the State or be designated as a QMHP mental health intern per Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR)
- Meets qualifications for a QMHA
- Be enrolled in a graduate program that will result in a degree in psychology, social work, or related field of behavioral science
- Have a collaborative educational agreement between the Division-certified provider and the graduate program for the student
- Valid driver's license
- Appropriate state licensure/ certification
- Certification from the Department of Human Services as a Certified Mental Health Investigator
- Must pass a drug test
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380
- Must hold a valid driver's license as well as personal auto insurance for privately owned Vehicles utilized for CCS business
- Must show proof of $300,000 or more liability coverage for bodily injury and $100,000 or more in property damage
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to talk and hear
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Knowledge of symptoms and challenges faced by people with mental illness and addictions
- Knowledge about relevant OAR's
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and complete all designated tasks and/or assignments in a thorough and timely fashion
- Ability to build a flexible schedule that works with client/ parent/ school availability
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practices, including: group skills, one-on-one skills, and community/ parent skills
- Knowledge of cultural and family issues that can contribute to CCS' development of clinically relevant and effective care
- Ability to operate computers, copy machine, faxes, and scanner
- Must adhere to rules and laws pertaining to client confidentiality
- Must have skills to professionally work with the public and the ability to coordinate services across various agencies and community groups
- Must be able to develop cooperative and respectful relationships with clients and their families
- Must be available for after 5 pm and/or weekend shifts
- Ability to drive long distances routinely
- Ability to respond to environments where a client is in crisis
