Mental Health Specialist (Full-Time)

Job Summary

Coordinate case management for assigned clients, including monitoring treatment team activities and developing, implementing, and revising overall treatment goals in collaboration with the client and ITT. Conduct comprehensive assessments of psychiatric history, mental status, diagnosis, physical health, and social functioning to inform care plans. Provide individual supportive therapy, symptom management, and crisis intervention while educating and supporting client families. Advocate for client rights and preferences throughout the rehabilitation and support process. Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks during direct interventions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in the Social Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of direct care experience in the MH field
  • Skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses
  • respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment
  • Knowledge of mental health systems and supports
  • Some knowledge of multiple support systems for substance abusers
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, hold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, and bend
