Job Summary
Organize and conduct social, recreational, and cultural activities while developing individualized plans to build residents' assets and self-esteem. Provide skill assessment, instruction, and supervision, then accompany and supervise residents during activities or transport them to community events. Assist families in planning home visits and locating local resources to support social and recreational needs. Maintain case notes for all clients, coordinate with the Program Supervisor and staff, and participate in team meetings. Represent the agency with service providers and complete all required training while adhering to Catholic Charities policies and government regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services
- experience working with children and adolescents with emotional disturbances
- Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY State
- The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Therapeutic Recreation and National Council Therapeutic Recreation Certification eligibility
